How to download and install

Important If your browser is a version of Internet Explorer other than those listed above, your computer is still vulnerable. Microsoft recommends that you upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer. (If you have Internet Explorer 5.5, install Security Update, August 9, 2000 to resolve this vulnerability.)

This update resolves the vulnerability in Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 2 (SP2), Internet Explorer 5.01, and Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1. To verify which version of Internet Explorer you are running:
- Click Help in the Internet Explorer Menu and then click About Internet Explorer.
- Apply this update if Version: is displayed as
- 4.72.3612.1713 for Internet Explorer 4.01 SP2,
- 5.00.2919.6307 for Internet Explorer 5.01 (if you are running Windows 2000, the Internet Explorer 5.01 version number will display as 5.00.2920.0000), or
- 5.00.3105.0106 for Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 (if you are running Windows 2000, the Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 version number will display as 5.00.3103.1000).
